The EQE SUV is the SUV derivative of the EQE electric sedan and sits alongside the EQS SUV in the Mercedes-Benz electric line-up. It was revealed in October 2022 and went on sale in South Africa in September 2023 as a single EQE 350 4MATIC model, with an electric motor on each axle and a 90.6 kWh battery.

The Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+ SUV uses the same battery capacity but produces 460 kW as standard, or 505 kW with the optional AMG Dynamic Plus package. Mercedes-Benz South Africa now presents the EQE SUV on its Mercedes-AMG pages, and the Cars.co.za new-car guide lists only the EQE 53.

For owners, the practical points are familiar ones for an electric car: AC charging runs at 11 kW as standard, and DC fast charging is supported for longer trips. Rear-axle steering is available to reduce the turning circle.
